Privacy Policy
Placeholder. This is a draft and does not yet cover every detail (e.g. the specific analytics/ad providers and cookie names). It will be finalized with a lawyer or a reputable privacy-policy generator before launch, once it's decided which analytics and advertising services will actually be used. Under Austrian law the German-language Datenschutzerklärung is the authoritative version; this page is a courtesy translation.

2. Hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Accessing this site causes GitHub to process technically necessary data such as IP address and access date/time. See GitHub's privacy statement for details. [Placeholder — update if the hosting/CDN setup changes, e.g. when Cloudflare is added in front of GitHub Pages.]
3. Cookies
This website currently does not set its own tracking cookies. Once analytics or advertising services are enabled (see below), they may set cookies or similar technologies. This section will be updated once specific services are in place. [Placeholder.]
4. Analytics
We plan to use a web analytics tool to measure traffic (e.g. a privacy-friendly, cookie-less service, or Google Analytics). Once a service is active, this section will list the provider's name, purpose, legal basis (typically consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and how to opt out. [Placeholder — analytics is not currently active; see .env.example.]
5. Advertising & affiliate links
This blog is (planned to be) funded through advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) and affiliate links. Affiliate links are visibly marked as such within each article. Clicking an affiliate link may let the respective partner (via cookies or similar technology) attribute the referral to MillionsCompass for commission purposes. We do not share any further personal data with the partner beyond that. Once advertising is active, this section will be expanded with details about the specific provider (e.g. Google AdSense) and a link to its privacy policy. [Placeholder — AdSense is not currently active.]
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing. Contact the email address above to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
7. Contact form
If you contact us via email through the Contact page, we process your details solely to handle your request.
